Jalandhar: A Rare and Old Book Exhibition was successfully organized at Lajpat Rai Library under the initiative of Book Buddies Reading Club. The exhibition showcased a remarkable collection of publications that are more than 70 years old, valuable reference materials, and the oldest edition published in 1832, all drawn from the library’s rich and historic holdings.
Students and faculty members visited the exhibition with great enthusiasm and curiosity to explore the literary heritage preserved within the library. The event served as a meaningful platform to highlight the significance of books as timeless sources of knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Anoop Kumar appreciated the efforts of the Book Buddies Club and the library staff for organizing such a unique and enlightening exhibition. Addressing the students, he emphasized that books remain the most faithful companions in human journey of self-learning and intellectual growth, and encouraged them to rediscover and nurture a deeper connection with reading.
The Librarian and club in-charge, Mrs. Shaveta highlighted that such exhibitions help students understand the historical significance of knowledge in print and inspire the libraries to value and protect their resources as intellectual and cultural assets for the future generations.
The event was successfully conducted with the wholehearted support of the library staff members; Sh. Arun Prashar, Sh. Ram Chander, Sh. Chandan Negi, Sh. Manbar Singh, Smt. Shabnam Devi, Smt. Surinder Kumari, Sh. Avinash, Sh. Rahul, and Smt. Deepu, who actively assisted the students throughout the exhibition.
