OpenAI, supported by companies like Microsoft and Amazon, is exploring a possible agreement with NATO. Last week, the company also announced a deal to use its technology in the Pentagon’s classified network.According to someone familiar with the situation, OpenAI is thinking about providing its AI technology for NATO’s unclassified networks. This comes shortly after the company that owns ChatGPT made a deal with the Pentagon.
The Wall Street Journal reported that OpenAI is considering this agreement with NATO. At first, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said during a company meeting that the technology might be used on all NATO classified networks. However, a company spokesperson later clarified that he misspoke and that the possible contract only involves NATO’s unclassified networks.
