Only female student from Punjab selected for this prestigious conference
Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) student Himani, M.Sc. Mathematics (Semester IV), represented the institution at the National Conference on
Contemporary Trends in Mathematical Sciences (NCCTMS-2026). The prestigious event, organised by the Department of Mathematics at Arunachal
Pradesh University served as a platform for scholars and researchers from across India to share groundbreaking insights into modern mathematics.
Himani’s research paper, titled “Compartmental Models in Epidemiology: A Comparative Study from SIR to Models with Delays,” was developed under her
M.Sc. research project and selected for presentation following a rigorous review process. Her work offers a sophisticated comparative analysis of disease
transmission models, bridging the gap between basic SIR (Susceptible- Infectious-Recovered) frameworks and more complex models that incorporate
time delays. Notably, Himani achieved the distinction of being the only female student from Punjab selected for this esteemed academic platform, showcasing
her individual brilliance and the high caliber of research being conducted at KMV. Director Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi, extended her heartfelt
congratulations to Himani on this outstanding accomplishment, attributing the success to the student’s sincere efforts, perseverance, and commitment to
mathematical research. Prof. Dwivedi also lauded the faculty of the PG Department of Mathematics for their constant mentorship and for fostering an
environment that encourages students to push the boundaries of traditional learning. This achievement reaffirms KMV’s commitment to academic
excellence and research orientation, serving as a powerful inspiration for other students to pursue excellence at both national and international levels.
