Jalandhar: The R&D Cell of DAV College, Jalandhar, successfully concluded the Green Bharat 2-Week Impact Challenge, an initiative in collaboration with the National EduTrust of India, registered under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India. The valedictory session of the 14-day Green Bharat Impact Challenge was graced by the esteemed presence of the Principal, Dr. Anoop Kumar. The programme commenced with the DAV Gaan. Thereafter, Principal Dr. Anoop Kumar formally signed the Green Commitment Charter, symbolizing the institution’s enduring pledge to sustainability.
Dr. Sharanjit Sandhu, Dean, R&D Cell, presented a comprehensive summary of the 14-day transformative journey of the Green Bharat Impact Challenge. The Principal congratulated the students and team members for successfully completing the challenge and encouraged young minds to contribute towards building a sustainable, green, and Viksit Bharat. He emphasized the importance of water conservation, tree plantation, campus cleanliness, and proper waste disposal to prevent plastic pollution. He also highlighted the need to adopt traditional, nature-friendly practices over excessive reliance on modern mechanical methods.
An award distribution ceremony was organized to recognize the “Green Warriors” who demonstrated exceptional dedication throughout the challenge. DAV College, Jalandhar, and its worthy Principal, Dr. Anoop Kumar, were honoured with the Sustainable Campus Award 2026 and Eco-Visionary Leadership Award 2026, respectively.
The Sustainable Mentor Awards 2026 were conferred upon Nodal Officer Dr. Shanranjit Sandhu and Coordinators Dr. Navjit Sharma and Dr. Komal Arora for their exemplary coordination and significant contributions in making the challenge impactful.
Additionally, the Sustainable Champion Award 2026 was presented to 30 active participants for their commitment to eco-friendly practices and for serving as ambassadors of sustainable living. Winners of the online quiz on energy conservation and the PowerPoint presentation competition on green solutions were also awarded merit certificates.
The programme was efficiently conducted by Dr. Manpreet Kaur. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Komal Arora (Coordinator), who expressed gratitude to all student participants, members of the R&D Cell, and faculty from various departments for their valuable contributions throughout the 14-day event. She also acknowledged the technical support provided by the non-teaching staff. Dr. Reena Devi, Dr. Loveleen, Dr. Sahib Singh, Dr. Shivani Verma, Dr. Komal Narang, and Prof. Kuldeep Khullar also graced the occasion with their presence.
