Jalandhar: The Department of Mathematics, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Research & Development Cell of DAV College, organized an Awareness Session on “IPR for Innovators and Entrepreneurs” under the DBT Star College Scheme.
The resource person was Dr. Ruchi Singla, CEO of RAS Intellect Solution Pvt. Ltd., an expert in Intellectual Property Rights and innovation management. She was accorded a green welcome and presented with a memento by Officiating Principal Dr. Kunwer Rajeev and HoD Prof. Monish Arora. The programme commenced with the DAV Gaan followed by a formal introduction of the resource person.
In his address, Officiating Principal Dr. Kunwer Rajeev motivated students to build enhanced academic and professional profiles through dedication, concentration, and focus in life. On this occasion, the prize winners of the E-Day Online Quiz were presented for awards by Prof. Sahil Nagpal, President of Bansilal Mathematical Society.
During her interaction with students, Dr. Ruchi Singla introduced the concept of Intellectual Property Rights and explained various forms of IPR, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. She elaborated on the patent filing process, prior art search, drafting of patent documents, commercialization of intellectual property, and discussed the role of IPR in startups, research, and entrepreneurship. The session was highly interactive, with participants engaging in discussions and raising queries related to patentability, technology transfer, and innovation protection, supported by real-life examples and case studies.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashu Bahl, IPR Coordinator,IIC. The programme was graced by Dr. Dinesh Arora, Dr. Rajeev Puri, Dr. Nischay Bahl, Prof Pankaj Gupta, Dr. Punit Puri and Prof. Vishal Sharma .
Dr. Seema Sharma efficiently oversaw all hospitality arrangements. The stage was conducted by Prof. Jasmeen Kaur, while Prof. Ranjita coordinated the arrangements efficiently. The session concluded successfully, significantly enhancing awareness about IPR among students and aspiring entrepreneurs.
